To cis allies: today would be a good day to make that donation. Consider one or more of these organizations:

PA Licensure Supervision Available (in Partnership)

I should probably add that the office-mate situation I have listed can also include two hours of weekly supervision towards licensure, if needed, for the right license-eligible candidate.

This would likely be a clinician who would like to focus their practice expertise on mental health interventions and treatment with a strong awareness of social-contextual factors. (Training and development of multicultural competence.) That is to say, someone who would be an appropriate partner for this practice focus!

I am a fully PA-licensed PhD-level (i.e. Doctoral-level) Clinical Psychologist and I maintain supervision CEs, so I am qualified to supervise a broad number of related fields and education levels. However, please check your specific licensure board requirements to ensure that a Doctoral-level Clinical Psychologist fulfills requirements for your licensure supervision.

Please note: as a Psychologist I cannot offer licensure supervision à la carte on a paid hourly basis, as per APA ethical guidelines. I recognize that in some other closely allied fields this is the accepted model. Licensure supervision must be embedded. I do offer some consultation-type supervision, training, and assistance on an à la carte hourly basis.

Happy 30th Annual Coming Out Day!

A client today anonymously offers a quote that I’ve been hearing from others as well:

“I offer gratitude to those who’ve come out in the past, encouragement for those who will be coming out in the future, and support to those who don’t feel safe to come out yet. We see you.”

Instead of “Privilege,” Think of Game Settings

The classic John Scalzi discussion of how the emotionally difficult term “privilege” can be explained with a gaming metaphor. All models may be wrong, as they say, but some models are useful. And this model has held up as very, very useful:
